Super chuffed to have heard that the Ramadan Kids Ident I worked on with Turquoise branding has won 1st prize for best 2D / 3D animation at the 16th International Eyes and Ears Awards

Here’s the film for those who missed it:

More studies of form / poses.

I’m enjoying these. Really want to get into the habit of studying something way more regularly (humans, animals, faces, expressions, lighting, colour etc) ..lets hope this sticks.

Thought I’d practise drawing the human form tonight. Here are some ‘loose’ studies from photos. Feeling pretty rusty too! Need to be doing these more regularly and speed up too!

Relish – In London

Posted on Sep 30, 2014

It’s been really really great being able to see the promo campaign of Relish ‘in the flesh’ in and around London. I’m still feeling super chuffed that I got to work on the character design of these productive people. Here are a few snaps of the brand on bus stops, taxis, delivery scooters, underground tubes and in parks around London.

Relish have also done a great job of advertising on the web covering major sites such as youtube, facebook, gumtree and wetransfer to name a few.

Here’s a quick character painting on my new cintiq! It’s my first time using one so I’m trying to get to grips with the workflow, but I’m already finding it a whole lot easier and quicker to use than the Intuos and Bamboo range of tablets. I’d like to be doing these quick paintings far more regularly in my downtime this year.

Jungle Character Development work

Posted on Dec 28, 2013

I recently had the opportunity to develop a series of characters and illustration spreads for a proposed children’s picture book. Unfortunately the project didn’t progress further; however, I am happy to share some of the character design sketches and development work with you here. The coloured illustrations can be seen here.

Danny the Dinosaur – in 3D

The super talented Gerard Dunleavy has sculpted one of my characters from the #GetDrawing series in 3D using Z-Brush. I’m sure you’ll agree that he’s done an incredible job of it! He’s looking pretty amazing!
